Madison is a city in Dane County. It is the state capital and the county seat. Madison is located in the Four Lakes district - comprised of Lake Mendota, Lake Monona, Lake Wingra and Lake Waubesa, thus Madison is sometimes referred to as "The City of Four Lakes."
