Adel is a small unincorporated community situated in southeastern Lake County east of Klamath Falls on Oregon State Highway 140. It is situated on Deep Creek, south of Pelican Lake
Adel is a community with a café and gas station, plus loosely scattered ranches. A stopover for travelers, the town lies in the one of the most remote parts of Oregon.
Adel sits on land first established in 1896. Supposedly, Adel was named for a former sweetheart of a pioneering landowner. According to another tradition, Adel's namesake is actually Leda in reverse spelling. Leda was a beloved local cow belonging to a local resident.
