Gilbert is located in Maricopa County, Arizona, USA. It was a prime farming community, due to the construction of the Roosevelt Dam and the Eastern and Consolidated Canals in 1911. It has remained an agricultural town and was known as the "Hay Capital of the World" up until the late 1920s.
